Stock
A share is a stake in a company's capital: whoever buys it becomes a shareholder and takes part in its profits and its risks.
The price of a listed share changes constantly according to supply and demand, which in turn reflect the company's results, expectations about the future and market sentiment. Shareholders can earn in two ways: through a rise in price and through dividends, i.e. the share of profits paid out to shareholders.
