Volatility

Volatility measures how much a security's price fluctuates: the higher it is, the wider and more frequent the moves up and down.

A very volatile stock can deliver big gains but also big losses in a short time; that's why volatility is used as a measure of risk. Cryptocurrencies and small companies are usually more volatile than government bonds or large companies.

💡 In the simulation you can experience first-hand, risk-free, how different it is to hold a calm stock or a very volatile one.
